Tool Number shown in CAM Tree Operation title

This past week at AU, I saw an HSM Works option to add a "T[x]" in the CAM tree for each operation (e.g. T3 2D Contour, T44 Horizontal) - it's a nice way to view the tools being used without having to expand each cam tree operation details.    Any idea if/how we can do this in Fusion 360?

Don't believe it's possible now. but it's a very nice feature we use a lot in HSMWorks.

Maybe put it on the IdeaStation?

@NYC_CNC

Not where you are talking about.  I thought the tool number was there by default.  Those are the tool number in the [] on mine.

Not sure they are just there on mine.   I have the CAM preview check in the preferences.  Maybe it was something that is a preview and not released yet.  I guess I always thought they were there.  They show up on both my OSX and Win10 installs.

I've got the CAM preview selected as well.  Hmm.  I'll have to keep poking around

I looked around some and could not find anything.  I looked in preferences and by RMB in various places on the CAM tree to see if it were an option there.

Is this because some of use ended up with the Bata mode on. It's not in preferences I think it was from quite a while back when the whole CAM system was in preview.

With the preview on I can now see them too.

Would still like the compensation offset to be displayed there as well.

I'm not seeing any tool numbers either, with preview on or off.  I had beta mode turned on up until revently and that didn't make any difference either.

I really miss these from HSMXpress.

The tool numbers showing in Fusion is something quite new, I looked back at some of my posts and there's one here from 28/11/15 and they don't show and one here from 2/12/15 and they are there. At the moment I've got them on my work PC running win7 and my notebook running win8.1.

I'm seeing it in my programs as well.

Could this be Ultimate vs. Fusion 360 standard? I'm running Ultimate.

Just want to give an update here from development:

I spent some time looking into why some users can see the tool numbers and others can't and the reason behind it isn't very conclusive. The users who can see it have a modified value in their system registry that gets loaded on Fusion start up. One possible thought for how this happened is that those who can see tool numbers had previously toggled the numbers on in the InventorHSM options. Then that value got loaded during Fusion launch and users could now see tool numbers in Fusion.

However, this thread is a good indication that we need to speed up the addition of a way (CAM UI Option) to toggle these tool numbers on in Fusion. This is on our radar now and we are working on adding a simple option to add this functionality for you all.

Hope this helps and I will update in the future when this will be available.

Thanks,

Noah
