Tool Number shown in CAM Tree Operation title

This past week at AU, I saw an HSM Works option to add a "T[x]" in the CAM tree for each operation (e.g. T3 2D Contour, T44 Horizontal) - it's a nice way to view the tools being used without having to expand each cam tree operation details.    Any idea if/how we can do this in Fusion 360?

How would this explain those being able to seem them on OSX since Inventor won't install on it?

What I suggested is only one possible way that may have affected this. We are still looking into what could currently be causing this as it is not immediately clear, but soon it will be within an option in Fusion, which should solve the issue for everyone else.

Thanks,

Noah

I've not used any other Autodesk products apart from screencast and the display of the number started between 28/11/15 and 02/12/15.

I've been using Fusion for a little over a week on a new PC running Windows 10 that has never had any other CAD/CAM software on it.  The tool numbers show in the browser as previously illustrated.  I haven't changed anything in the preferences from the initial installation.

F360 is the first AD product I have used.

I see the tool numbers on both the iMac 2007 with Yosemite.

And the windows7 machines.

the tool numbers just  showed up one day.

CAM-2857 was logged for this issue. FYI... Looks like all the new Fusion accounts have no problem, right? Is there anything to do with the Fusion account history?

I'm not sure, I've been using Fusion for a long time. However, in early October all of my computers were reformatted for a clean installation of OS X El Capitan and Windows 10.

Maybe someone that isn't seeing the tool numbers could do an uninstall and reinstall of Fusion 360 to see if they appear after that?

I can see them and I've even been a participant in the CAM 360 beta.

But also have Inventor HSM&HSMWorks loaded on some pc's.

CAM-2857 has been solved and will be included as part of the January Update (currently scheduled for Jan. 23rd). It will also include an option via Preferences -> General -> CAM.

@Laurens-3DTechDraw, just curious - when is the last time that you re-installed Fusion and/or got a new machine with Fusion?

Really, anyone who can see the Tool Numbers currently, I am curious when the last time was that you did a re-install of Fusion or loaded Fusion on a new machine.

Feel free to email me at noah.balsmeyer@autodesk.com if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Noah

Will there also be an option to show the compensation offset numbers? That's really usefull when you use different lengthoffsets from the toolnumber.

I have a desktop PC, the last clean install would have been Feburary\March and a new laptop, first and only install was August and the tool numbers showed up around 30th of November. Was there an update that weekend?

Laurens,

The tool compensation offsets option is coming as well, though not certain if it will be out in the same release as the Show Tool Number option. That being said, you can expect it very shortly (if not grouped with) the release of the "Show Tool Number" option.

The other Browser options that are part of the Inventor HSM options will be showing up soon as well.

Thanks,

Noah
