Tolerance Problems with Shopsabre CNC

Hello,

I'm having some strange tolerance problems with my Shopsabre RC8 CNC. The design is a type of dovetail joint and in Fusion the tail is modeled at 1.49 inches but when machined and checked with a caliper the tail measures 1.513 inches. The socket is also off, design to be 1.51 inches, cut to 1.49 inches. So it seems like the toolpath is .01 inches away from the workpiece making adding .01 to each side of the tail and socket (making the tail wider by .02 and the socket thinner by .02, a tolerance collision of .04??? 🤯)

There are no finishing/roughing passes that are offsetting the toolpath, the bit is brand new, the compensation type is set to in computer and I am not doing any editing to the post file in the controller.

Does anyone have any ideas on what might be going on and how I can troubleshoot this? Link to the Fusion file is below and I attached some pictures and screenshots.

Could we see your Fusion file?

File > Export > Save to local folder. Return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply. Is this the first time you've run into an issue with Fusion and parts coming out far off the mean? Does your machine support cutter compensation, and what post processor are you using?

Hi @seth.madore,

This is not the first time I've had this issue. As for my machine supporting cutter compensation, I'm not certain (I'm relatively new to CNC/CAM). I'm using the post processor on Fusion's site (Link here)

The .f3d is attached.

ShopSabre CNC provides life-time support, you should reach out to the tech team with all tech related questions so they can help.

Also depending on the tolerance you are experience you will have some tolerance play with Rack and Pinion Drives

Again I recommend reaching out to the Tech team Monday morning or this weekend by email so they can help assist you further.
