If I convert a bitmap to SVG then import into Fusion 360, it may potentially be comprised of hundreds of lines. I need to use the engrave tool with a v-bit to carve all those lines in wood. However, when I'm in the engrave settings, I have to select all the contour selections individually under the Geometry tab, and selecting several hundred of them is quite tedius. is there no way to select them all at the same time?
Hi Malek1979m,
At this time, we can only select one entity at a time for the Engraving Toolpath in Fusion 360.
The ability to select multiple entities or a sketch would be a great enhancement request to add to the Fusion 360 Idea Station!

dear Wayne.G,
before all thank you for this great software!! very happy with it
but please, any news on this?
since last week I am just clicking and clicking on this architectural model.. together about 20 thousand clicks only just to select the contours one by one by 2 d contour or 2 d engrave
please can you uURGENTLY add functionality for multiple contour selection?
many thanks
alex
Hi, I am also still waiting on this feature. It is painful and sometimes impossible to manually select every contour. It just doesn't make sense.
hi,
please can u support this idea with your vote here http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/ideastation-request-a-feature-or/selecting-multiple-contours-simultane...
and if you know some other users who also need this future please tell them too
thank you
best wishes
alex
Hello today is 02-08-2017 you guys have released multiple updates and still no MULTIPLE CONTOUR SELECTION. i have to make 400 holes it takes it more to select than to machine !!!!
please add this feature asap
thank you

Have you tried "Select Same Diameter"? Make sure to select the hole wall and not an edge.
I've had luck using the 3D Pencil operation. You can select a curve and tool paths will be generated for all of the letters inside the curve. I made a taper mill with the same geometry as my engraving tool in order to trick the program.
We added this feature to the 2D profile toolpath. We are currently working on adding it to other 2D operations.
I hope this helps.
Try selecting the sketch from the feature tree. If this is only available in 2D Contour (sorry, can't test at the moment), do that then make a derived operation to keep the geometry. Not saying this is ideal, but could be a better workaround.
Bad news:
It's not an obvious intuitive solution, but it does make sense.
Good news:
Double clicking a sketch while in "CAM --> Cutting 2D Profile --> Geometry --> Contour Selection" mode worked to select all contours in the object, and it generated the tool paths. HOORAY!
Roy I am desperately trying to replicate your work around without success. I'm a noob, so am probably misunderstanding your phrase 'double click on sketch' whilst in contour selection mode. I am learning Fusion 360 and am using it to burn some text on wood (may have to reconsider and revert to my usual inkscape and laser gcode tools at this rate).
At the moment I cannot find a way around having to select every letter and inner curves - some hundred selections on each cut I need to make. So your work around looked just what I needed.
If I bring up the setup window (by dbl clicking on the setup on Left hand side LHS) and double click on the word sketch under the Model section at the bottom of that window, it looks like it is selecting ever curve, but as soon as I OK or go to the 2d cutting activity it seems to clear the selection. ARgghghghghh 🙂 but this is the closest I can get to your dbl click on sketch approach. When I am actually in contour selection mode, double clicking on everything I can think of does nothing.
It sounds like you're trying to select shapes before going to 2d cutting.
What worked for me :
"CAM --> Cutting 2D Profile --> Geometry --> Contour Selection"
I was able to follow your instructions and easily select all the desired curves/contours (not sure which is the proper name) but in my case I want to use the engrave function to cut out a bunch of letters. Once I have all the contours easily selected as per your instructions can I copy them over into another 2D toolpath method like Engrave or Contour? Seems to me like every 2d toolpath option should have a "select all contours on surface option" . With this current situation I'm spending just as much time building as I am clicking items to mill.
