Open pocket toolpath

Is it possible to build a toolpath for an open pocket without cutting around the whole object?

A trace toolpath works but without stepdown or finish pass!

 

I did it by temporarily extending the diameter of the disk so I could use a 2D pocket totally enclosed by the body.  Works but does not seem satisfactory.

When picking the contour you can either hold control and pick the individual segments or you can select the outline/perimeter then long click it again and you will get a popup dialog box when you can accept/reject and pick wither you want an open contour or a closed contour.

select the 2 lines and the arc by holding "Alt" and clicking the edges.

Well yes, but no. Press the ALT key. Select the first edge of the slot. Select it again, add on to the chain. Fusion doesn't always properly handle multiple chain selections like this (in the manner outlined by @iporter6 ). It's best to feed it proper selection information

That did it.  Thanks.  Had to set sketch like this to clear the outer corners of the pocket:
