MAZAK SMOOTHING

Does anyone have a solution for using smoothing on the Mazak post or will Autodesk be fixing the online post anytime soon?

I'm not familiar with the exact issue that the Mazak post has, can you give me some more information?

A quick look at the generic Mazak post shows that smoothing is supported, are you not finding that to be the case?

The post doesn't shut off smoothing and turn back on smoothing where needed.

I´ve made these changes to my post:

Use G61.1 with G5 to mantain precision with high feedrates. You can keep G61.1 on with cutcom.

possamaicadcam_0-1721876952965.png

Here´s the code to deactivate G5 before cutcom and activate again after.

Did you implement the code to your post?

Mine is working like a charm.

I've also changed some other things, so feel free to ask, I'll be glad to help.

@seth.madore is that of any help?

We are currently using the Mazak cloud post.  Do you have a post you can share with me?

We are currently using the Mazak cloud post; do you have a modified post you can share with me?

Message 8 of 12

Yes I can, but keep in mind I've made changes to our specific machine and needs. It's a VCN-700D with 4th axis.

The best approach is enabling cloud libraries then putting your posts inside. So when you make changes they don't get overwritten by Fusion post updates.

I do have a Mazak post we have modified for our Variaxis but have nit been able to implement smoothing without some hand editing.  Can you point out what code need to be modified within the post?  Thank you again for the help.

Message 10 of 12

Sure, no problem.

In my post this section is around line 2462.

All I did was writing a block G5 P0 before compensation left or right, then activating again after compensation is off.

I don´t know if it´s your case, but I found that outputting the whole program with line segments, no G2 or G3, the machine is running faster and smoother. Also no problems with cutcom interference.

Downside is that the program size is huge, but since I´m transferring via Ethernet to machine HDD and running in Tape Mode it´s no problem.

case RADIUS_COMPENSATION_LEFT:
        writeBlock("G5 P0")
        writeBlock(gMotionModal.format(1), gFormat.format(41), x, y, z, d, f);
        break;
      case RADIUS_COMPENSATION_RIGHT:
        writeBlock("G5 P0")
        writeBlock(gMotionModal.format(1), gFormat.format(42), x, y, z, d, f);
        break;
      default:
        writeBlock(gMotionModal.format(1), gFormat.format(40), x, y, z, f);
        writeBlock("G5 P2")
      }
