Max Tool Engagement For 3D Contour

I'm running a ramping 2D Contour with a 3/32" tool and then a 3D Contour w/ Rest Machining using a 0.035" tool. I enabled a Helix type ramp for the 3D Contour, however that's not what's being generated. Because of the fragility of the 0.035" tool, I only want to engage the side of the tool no more than 1/2 the diameter. 3D Contour does not have a setting for max engagement. I also tried a 3D Adaptive Clearing but that generates a toolpath the removes material that after the first operation will not be there; a huge waste of time.

I attached a screenshot of the beginning of the second operation. How do I get the tool to lap the sides instead of taking a full swing at it? Thanks!

I came up with a solution. I switched to a 3D Adaptive Clearing and added more machining boundaries. By using a projected sketch, I created offsets of the edges that would encompass the left over material in the middle. Now the toolpath skips it because it's outside the machining boundaries.

Thanks.

Hi

Regarding 3D adaptive cutting air, there is a rest option that is "from previous operation" that you can try. That should only cut stock left from the previous operations.
