I had a tool library for aluminum that for some reason looks empty. All of my other libraries have my tools.

Hi there -

Can you provide a little more information here?

 - What platform are you on?

 - Is this a local library, or a Cloud library?

 - When you say it "looks empty", what do you mean?

 - Can you find the file on your disk? If so, can you attach it here?

Thanks,

  Jeff

Hi @gmdimarzio88

I just wanted to jump in to give you the initial troubleshooting procedure that I like to use to resolve issues with missing tool libraries. Please try working through the procedure outlined below:

  1. Go to C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\CAM360\libraries\Local and see if your tool files are there (.json). If they are, please copy them to a save folder not in the path above.
  2. Perform a clean uninstall of Fusion 360.
  3. Delete the CAM360 folder from Step #1.
  4. Restart the computer and reinstall Fusion 360.

If this was a cloud library, it may be worth checking your A360 trash folder. Missing tool libraries have been known to show up there!

Hopefully this helps! If it does not, please let me know and we will continue troubleshooting.

@paul.claussWhat would be the reason to only see MM taps in the library? ver 2.0.2604

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous

When you say "MM Taps," are you referring to taps with metric units?

You may have the other tools filtered out of the tool library search. To change this, enter the tool library and click on the icon in the top left hand corner that looks like a stack of boxes. This will allow you to see what libraries and types of tools are being shown in your tool library.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Here is a screenshot. All boxes are checked. If I only check ANSI and ISO taps, nothing is there.

Hope that helps.

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for the response! I have been unable to recreate the issue you are experiencing - please refer to the screencast below. You may need to try accessing the tool library through the ribbon instead of through the machining operation. Also, make sure that you click on "Samples" after making your ANSI/ISO selections. Please let me know if you have any other questions!

@paul.clauss  Thanks. They were always there, Smiley Embarassed Since the descriptions all start with "M" in the front and the description window was not wide enough to fit everything in.

I hope that make sense. Just a different layout. Metric and Inch are all together.

I think I got it.

All of the other folders such as stainless, titanium etc. all have the tools I set are there. I'm not sure why this library is empty today. I went through cam with this library last week. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like. I tried some of the suggestions and nothing. I'm not sure what happened in the first place.

It looks like there are filters active. What happens if you click the big X to clear the filters?

I cleared all filters and still this one is empty.

@jeff.pek  Yes ISO was also checked, but if you have "sample" "ANSI" "ISO" all checked it will only show the one that have clicked on ie click on ANSI and only ANSI populates, even though sample and ISO are still checked. If you want to see "ANSI" and "ISO" together, click on sample and make sure "ANSI" and "ISO" are checked.

I don't know if that makes sense, but that's how it works.

So what I have learned, if you want a certain category of tools, click on the word "ISO" ANSI" "etc" and the field populates.

Hi @gmdimarzio88

Your tool library should be stored in in the C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents\My Libraries, can you see the Aluminum library there?

If so, one option may be to copy the aluminum library to the following filepath: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\CAM360\Libraries\Local

Fusion 360 should be able to find the aluminum library after this copy and a restart. While this procedure is similar to my previous post, you will copy the tools to the folder we deleted then. Perhaps Fusion is looking in the CAM360 folder for your tools after all.

Hopefully this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

This is a cloud library on Fusion 360. My A360 trash folder is empty. I guess I'll have to re setup that library

Hi @gmdimarzio88

My mistake - I thought we were working with a local library. I apologize for the inconvenience of redoing the tool library - it is always a good idea to back up tool libraries locally just in case something like this occurs.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!
