Lathe: 45 degrees passes and custom tool

Hello everybody!
I’m having a hard time figuring out how to create a small boring bar tool, it has a 62 degrees angle (-5 on the front and -20 on the lower part):

https://www.wnt.com/mastertool/IT/product/Utensili%20per%20l'asportazione%20truciolo/Tornitura/Mini-...

Also I can’t do angled passes (I need to rough out a small stainless steel part with a 45 degrees movements to avoid clogging the small hole I pre drilled) unless I fake the tool being an external turning tool that I position to be rotated by 90 degrees.

Any clue?

Thanks!

Hi resonancesrl,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm not sure I can help on the first question. But for the second one, did you try the Pass Direction parameter in the Tool tab? It can help change the default toolpath angle.

Let me know if this is what can help you.

Thanks,

Debbie

Hello and thanks for the reply.

I already tried it and the problem is that it doesn't seem to behave in a predictable way: it works on an external turning tool if you rotate it by 90 degrees but it's not the actual tool I have to use.
