How to mill connect pockets with different Depths?

Hi.

I can't figure out how to mill out 2 pockets that are connected but have different depths. I tried

both 2 d and 3d pocket strategies.  It either crashes Fusion or  hangs there with 0% processed

or Pending or... it leaves material at the edges.

File included.

Would someone here please explain what I am doing wrong?

It makes it easy to help if we can see where you are going wrong, as I can get a toolpath with no problem.

See if this helps See this video for selecting toolpaths https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATs4rsI_TPc

I select 2d pocket and select all 3 pockets in the Geometry TAB 3 chains

Set the bottom Height to the deepest pocket

turn off stock to leave

and that's it.

You do not need to touch the hights and this is the fail, reset it back to selected contours.

ok

Ok so

I select 2d pocket  and in the geometry tab I select all connected pockets

and hit ok. It either crashes, sits at 0% or says Pending and does nothing.

And yes I did what you said.

So my question is HOW do you properly mill a feature like this?

What would be the best  set of operations in what sequence?

Thanks for the help.

Can you post the model with the tool paths done? I need to see it to have a chance of working out what is wrong.

What are your computer specks?

Is there a reason you chose the deepest pockets to machine first?  Try using the top profile as the selection.

Yes

When I would select the bottom of the pocket it would sit at 0% and not create the tool path

or it would say Pending or crash Fusion. Which is really weird. I don't know why it was doing that.

I looked at your file and I see you selected the TOP line so that the pocket is all blue

I was selecting the bottom and that is the problem.

I will mark this as ACCEPT SOLUTION

Thanks for the help.

It did the same for me, so I changed the inputs and that worked.
