Cleaning up this swarf toolpath

I'm trying to run a swarf tool path around this cam in a hurco vmx42Di with a Koma tilt/rotary. I am seeing some unwanted motion down in the low spot of the cam which i would like to get rid of. The tool path on fusion does look a little funky down in that area is there a way to clean this up? Should I be using a different toolpath other than swarf for this operation?

These images may help visualize what I'm trying to achieve. The first image shows a nice clean path on a different cam, the second image is showing the tool path I am trying to get cleaned up.

Hi @Jfarrow333,

The surface looks like it changes quite dramatically which wont be ideal on the machine. I'd say its a long shot to get swarf to give you a smooth tool path for this surface. I'd suggest using the minimum radius analysis tool, from that information, pick a ball nose cutter that can get into the radii, then use a scallop / steep and shallow with a small stepover.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Have you tried playing with the tolerance? Maybe try bumping it up a small bit.
