Post Processor and Machine Simulation What’s New
Looking for the latest post processors and machines updates? Look no further!
We are continually working hard to bring you updates and improvements to the many open-source Post Processors and Machines we offer for free, but those updates often get lost in the shuffle of other enhancements or big feature releases. This post aims to update you on newly added or improved post processors and machines, so you can stay up to date on what you use today or look for news so you can get the most out of Fusion.
This post will get refreshed with notable updates as they’re released, and you can click each hyperlink to go to the mentioned post. As always, you can find the latest in our post processor offering on the Online Post Library where you can search by vendor, type, or name, and see any recent changes to each post processor.

1. New Post Processors
Milling Post Processors
Created a post processor for the Penta Machine Pocket NC and Solo machines.
2. Improved Post Processors
We are always working to keep post processors up to date with new technologies. This is a summary of the main improvements made to post processors already in the library.
Generic Post Processors
Improved toolpath ID generation for Inspection operations in Fanuc based post processors.
Milling Post Processors
Fixed TCP line format when using the same tool for Brother post processors.
Added support for chip-breaking peck reduction codes and removed the 'Use pitch for tapping' property in the FlexCNC post processor.
Haas, Haas EC, Haas UMC-750, Haas Inspect Surface, Haas Next Generation, Haas Next Generation Inspect Surface, Haas UMC-750
Added Radius Mill to the valid Haas tool types that can be measured.
Haas VR-8, Haas VR-9, Haas VR-11, Haas VR-14, Haas GM2-5AX
The PassThrough command is now output at the beginning of the operation in the Haas head/head post processors.
Heidenhain, Heidenhain Inspection, Kern
Updated Heidenhain based posts to use shared content across post processors.
Added Inspection Live Connection support to the Heidenhain based post processors. More information about the Live Connection feature and its use can be found in this Fusion Help Article
Mill-Turn Post Processors

Output the spindle speed as both a P-code and S-code when tapping using the live spindle on the sub-spindle in the Haas Mill/Turn post processors.
Waterjet/Laser/Plasma Post Processors
Added capability to do standalone piercing using a Drilling cycle to the Tormach Jet post processor.
3. New Machines
Milling Machines
The Machine Library lets you manage your machine tools by using Machine Configurations to define your available machines and resources. These configurations can automate the settings in your Job Setup.
There are many Machine Configurations available in the standard library.
You will have available configuration files for some of the leading machine manufacturers:
Additive Machines
The easiest way to get started, is to copy an existing configuration that matches some of the characteristics of your machine.

5. New Print Settings
The Print Setting Library stores the collections of settings that the toolpath generators of Fusion require to produce the right data for the additive manufacturing method chosen in a setup.
Hyrax Generic MPBF Print Setting 100 micron
Mars 4 – Generic – 50 micron, Mars 4 DIp – Generic – 50 micron
Mars 4 Max – Generic – 50 micron, Mars 4 Ultra – Generic – 50 micron
Saturn 3 – Generic – 50 micron, Saturn 3 Ultra – Generic – 50 micron
Saturn 4 – Generic – 50 micron, Saturn 4 Ultra – Generic – 50 micron
6. Post Processor Engine
Our development team is always working to update and fix the Autodesk CAM Post Processor engine. These modifications are not related to a specific postprocessor (as described above) but affect the entire library or at least the post processors using that specific class. The current post processor kernel is 5.171.0.
Add the function getOrientationFromDirection to the Matrix object in the post engine.
You can find here all the information regarding the Autodesk CAM Post Processor engine.
7. Post Processor Ideas
To make our library more varied and complete, we are always working on new post processors. Some of them still need more testing before being released in the public library. Every new Beta post processor is announced in the Idea Station, you can find all of them in the Post Processor Idea Station.
Please note that if you choose to use one of these post processors, you assume all inherent risk in using it and we ask that you proceed with caution.
That being said, we are looking forward to get your feedback!
