Hello,

I have now tried to machine slots on various parts and I cannot seem to work out just what I am doing wrong.. I know its me.. I just cant seem to work out what I have to do.. Until now, I've just done it manually.. But for this job, I have 94 slots on a pcd I need to do. I have tried a tool path on my actual model and cannot get one. Once I have one, I will do a circular pattern..  I thought maybe it was because I was trying to mill a circle. So instead, I made a model with a square slot, selecting a ball nose cutting to make my circle... but it doesn't seem to like this either..

Any advise on what I'm doing wrong please.. I am learning.. bit by bit, trial and error..

I have attached my actual piece and then also my second file with the square slot for you to have a look at.

Thank you all in advance..

Any help highly appreciated..

In Model Environment, create a Split Face to get a suitable drive line. In MFG, use Trace and then put it into a Pattern. File is attached.

Hello,

Thank you so much.. I have never used a split face before, but now I can see what youve done (I think).. I am going to do a smaller diameter test piece first on the machine, so I will model that up and redo the toolpath as you have this one.. Thank you very much for your help.. Really appreciated..
