2D Profile Calculate Speed Slooooow vs Kerf size -- Something changed

I'm somewhat of a noob to doing CAM setup.  About a year ago I started using F360 and CAM to do laser cut materials.  It worked great.  I was able to do the inner loops, outer loops and labeling text all out of the Setups and Operations.

 

The particular laser cutter I have access to accepts DXF files to define the cutting paths.  I modified the Autodesk DXF Post to assign colors based on tool # so that I could control the ordering of the operations on the machine.

 

I have three tools defined.  One of them I use for the marking.  I wanted the tool to have no kerf compensation, so I set it to some infinitesimal value like 1E-5 mm.

 

Recently, I've been trying to get a design to generate files.  Path generation, for this labeling, was talking a loooooong time.  For small chunks of text, maybe an hour per operation.  I figured out that if I increased my kerf setting for this tool that things sped up.  Like fast enough that I stopped screaming at the computer and Fusion.  (FWIW, I tried changing from "In Computer" compensation like I usually use to "In Control" -- no change in slowness.)

 

Whatever the version of the CAM engine around June of last year didn't take this kind of time.

 

What changed between then and now?  This was kind of unexpected.  I think I can adjust my post so that it doesn't have an error at "In Control" showing up from Fusion if that's what it takes for me to have control of kerf/no-kerf compensation based on my tool number.
