As showed in the Video:

Collision detection not working when using the boring operation, but it's OK when drilling. Why?

Thanks!

It looks like its not detecting the collision because you have already "Removed" the material where it would collide with the drill, so there is nothing for the boring cycle to collide with.

You would see that if you turn of the model when simulating the boring toolpaths

Thanks for reply!

I've tried to remove the drilling, but the collision detection still not working when there is only the boring operation. Any idea?

Thanks!

Hi

I'm not sure what the issue may be, are you able to share the Fusion file so I can take a look?

Goto File>Export>Save as .f3d/.f3z

Collision detection has been added to all drilling cycles that are defined by opening a Drilling toolpath operation and then selecting Shaft/Holder collision detection. This will be available in private preview in the May release. We do not yet support collision detection on the Bore/Thread/Circular milling strategies.

Hi Tessa

It should still detect a collision in machine simulation though right, regardless of the toolpath settings?

I think that's what we are talking about here rather than the collision detection under shaft and holder

That is a very good point. Let me alert a colleague who is knowledgeable about simulation to this thread, they will have more insight here than I do.

Hi @Windylzy, I'm with the team working on machine simulation in Fusion. Can you share the project with me so I can bring it to the team for a closer look?

Sure, I've added the file to the attachment. (test.f3z)

Thanks !

Hi

The reason for no collision detection is that machine simulation does not currently simulate connecting moves between toolpaths.

The reason the first drilling toolpath is detecting a collision is that the second toolpath in that folder is selecting both holes therefore there is a linking move between them which is simulated
