Weird toolpath wrecks part

so it all lookk good, im making a rectangle pocket but the tool enters the part on one or two paths that are outside the boundaries of the pocket, Thats the best way I can explain it, i don't know why its doing this . I have attached pics the highlighted toolpath in the picture shows where the tool enters the part and cuts thru the wall. I have tried two different ops that do the same pocket and they both cut out a little piece of the wall. its like a joke, the whole part is perfect except this one spot. If anyone knows why or how to get rid of this I'd love to hear it. Thanks so much!

Here's a pic of the part, the top left side of the part is cut out , total bummer. It acctually did the same thing but it didnt cut all the way thru on the bottom side as well.

Without seeing how you've defined the toolpath there's not much information that can be given. Sharing the part is the easiest way to understand what's happening. Otherwise share some screenshots of the toolpath and the defining tabs along worth geometry selections.

To fix this problem and your feedrate entry problem I suggets using the 3D Adaptive or 3D Pocket.

It will not need all the selections and doesn't need as much understanding of the actual operations to be used correctly.

It worked! Seems odd to me, the 2d op didn't acknowledge the wall there, well ur did but it still hit it, the 3d op went right around it, part is perfect! Thanks for the help!

That because our 2D isn’t part aware and our 3D is. The 2D is simply looking at the geometry you select for the XY information and the heights tab for depth.

Since the latest 2 updates I have had 2D pocket violate the model more and more.  I am constantly getting the error of a gouge.  I emailed support with the file I'm currently using but haven't even gotten a confirmation.

Interesting... Is there any reason not to just use 3D primarily?

3D ops are better maybe 90% of the time.  But in some situations where you need to machine just a specific area 2D can be easier to control.
