I have a rather particular situation. I might be doing some CAM subcontracting work for a customer. They have a particular preference when it comes to their "Z zero". For the standard vertical mill job, they prefer "Z zero" to be 1" above the part (I program with Z zero as the top of the part)
Now, the question is this: What is the easiest method? Right off the bat, I'm inclined to just make my stock 1" thicker than the model. The "problem" with this is that I end up with a decent amount of collisions as I'm simulating out the job. I'd prefer to have that not be the case, for obvious reasons.
The second option I'm thinking is to get my post podified to automatically put in that 1" difference, but that's not something I'm entirely convinced I can resolve on my own, considering how hacked up my post has become
Thoughts, comments?
