Torchmate "The vector to the center defines and invalid arc" error

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have a Torchmate 3 axis router that will not load cutter paths without giving and Error Code 1004: "The vector to the center defines an invalid arc. The arc cannot be drawn from the beginning point to the ending point with the center as specified." I have tried the torchmate post processor as well as the Fanuc. I have also checked the the controller is importing the arcs as absolute. Any help would be appreciated

Hello @Anonymous

Have you tested by checking this property?

It will generate the arcs in a different way, using a R value for indicating the radius, instead of defining the arc center via IJK variables.

Cheers.

Yes, I have tried that. When I try that it gives me an "invalid arc" error.

Hi

Can you please share a gcode file with the problem?

Because the problem can be caused by multiple reasons.

It can be a missing IJK value when using the arc center.

It can be an accuracy issue, using not enought decimal places.

If can be caused by a too strict parameter on the controller, pretty similar to the previous cause.

So figuring this issue is not simple, without any sample code.
