 Hi,

I would like to carve a piece of wood 3 meters long but, my cnc is 1 meter long. How can I split the toolpath to carve the piece in 3 times to make the entire 3 meters?

Hello,

I would create some workplanes and use the Split command to split your part. Then create a setup on each of the new parts which should give you the toolpaths you need (Post them out separately)

If you have never used the split command, let me know I can put together a short video showing how I would approach this

Edit: Please find below a sample video below 🙂 (modelled a random thing up as an example, should show the principles though)

Another option instead of splitting the part you can use the 3D toolpaths and draw confinement sketches to use as boundaries that match your work envelope.

Sketch Boundaries.JPG

The two sketches seen in the image allow for confinement in a 4th-axis setup to maintain rigidity but the principle is the same. If you pattern the sketch with a point to select for a WCS you can keep your coordinate system and move the part a set distance two times after the initial setup.
