Milltronics 9000 Series Post Processor

We have found several issues with the existing Milltronics post processor.

  • Engraving feature does not work. It is not allowing an engraving tool to work. The same tool worked in a different CAM program that we have.
  • Tap cycles are not pecking. They have a M29 code that is unnecessary. The needed G88 is missing. The output should also be in pitch not a feed rate.
  • Coolant through spindle is outputting the wrong code. It should be M63 (on) & M64 (off).
  • G41 & G42 not outputting

1) What do you mean it is not allowing the tool to work? More information needed about any alarm the machine is giving.

2) What format is needed here exactly?

3) This should be an easy change.

4) More information needed and a sample file. Are you sure you've turned on cutter compensation in the toolpath? Adaptive does not use cutter comp, and some operations only use it for finishing toolpaths such as 2D Pocket for instance.

@AchimN could you chime in here if you've got time?

I have edited my old Milltronics post processor to add a G88 instead of the G84 in the "right hand tap".   As of 5/15/2018 F360 has "Added support for rigid/non-rigid tapping for posts." This still does not output G88 nor the pitch to rigid/hard tap.

Sample of my working rigid tap on my Milltronic RH30:

O3021 (PS85-30-030.2)
(T8  D=0.3125 CR=0 - ZMIN=-1.15 - RIGHT HAND TAP)
N1 G90 G94 G17
N2 G20
N3 M9
N4 M5
N5 G32
(DRILL3 2)
N6 M9
N7 T8 M6
N8 S450 M3
N9 G54
N10 M8
N12 G0 X-24 Y0
N13 G43 Z0.6 H8
N15 G0 Z0.2
N16 M29 S450
N17 G98 G88 X-24 Y0 Z-1.15 R0.2 P0 F0.05556
N18 G80
N19 Z0.6
N21 M9
N22 M5
N23 G32
N24 G53 X-25 Y-0.1
N25 M30

I have also edited the post to stop the spindle and coolant before Z comes up to home and, that at the end of the program the bed homes to x-25 and y-0.1 position.

Can we get this right?

Happy Happy!

I'll add to the requests here.

I have a Partner 1.  Post changes that I would like to see are:

  1. 4th Axis that works.  Right now it just reports errors.
  2. G88 for rigid tapping (Milltronics uses G88 instead of G84)
  3. Spindle off before Z to tool change position
  4. Table comes to operator instead of home when part is done.
