In need of a post processor

Hi there,

We are a currently looking at making the switch to fusion from Rhino CAM. The main issue we have is the lack of a post processor for our machines.

We have one machine that is built by iCAM, which was a small CNC company based out of Hamilton, NZ, which has since gone under.

I've attached a sample G-code, and the post that we currently use with Rhino CAM.

What's the best way to go about acquiring a post? And if that's not an option what would the best starting point be for customizing a post? I've tried the Autodesk WinCnC post, but it seems way off.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi

The G code doesn't really look all that special very basic stripped down G-code, looks like G71 is just metric mode and there are no home retracts in the code.

Theres also no G43

You can modify posts relatively easily but it requires a bit of knowledge of how they work.

Cadpro in NZ is a good place to get a post made if you don't want to attempt it yourself.

Ive had a go with the Rs274 post

Make sure you have the settings like this:

Im not 100% sure if it will work with the G43 as your code doesn't have it but the rhino post does show G43 in it.

I did find Cadpro, might have to be the move for us. I'll definitely give your post a go, thank you. I'm comfortable doing a few basic tweaks with posts, but I don't really have the knowledge to change much.
