I can't get my stock to be offset from my model.

I have found a ton of posts of people models not being in the center of their stock but not the other way around.

I have a cylindrical model that is 10" OD. The closest piece of material I could find without spending a fortune on buying new was a 12.5" round. The issue is the round was a bandsaw cut out of some larger piece of material. So on one side their is a pilot hole where they threaded the blade through and a small cut where the blade pathed out until it got to the 12.5" size.

I would like to offset my model in the stock setup so that it avoids that side with the hole and the cut in it. So far though I can find no way to offset a cylindrical piece of stock from the model center. Everything is equal and centered on the model.  Thanks for any help.

If you add an axis where you want the STOCK to be centered on in the DESIGN environment you can select that in the stock tab under axis when using the fixed size cylinder option, this should get you what you need.

if there is already a suitable face or edge on your model you can pick this also

Or, you can just draw the stock with the hole and cut in it as in the image below and offset it to where you want as in the image below. I didn`t know the size of the hole and slot so it is just for example purpose only, you can use either the Model centre or the Stock centre for the "Box Point 🙂 🙂

Job done, example file attached, updated file with "Added Axis" attached also 🙂

Thanks guys that looks like it will work great. I hadn't yet gotten to the point of looking for a workaround. I was still hoping there was a built in way of doing it that I hadn't triggered yet in the dialog boxes. Next was trying to find creative ways around it. You guys gave me that and saved me time. Thanks a bunch and have a great day.
