Two questions.

     1. When you look at (SETUP2) in my CAM, your going to see I probe next to a hole, then drill the holes. Reason for this is the part is from a mold and it has draft angles. When secured in my vice, the top "Z" pane is actually on a downward slope. When viewed in machine, it slopes down to the operator. My question is after the primary set up for WCS, (back left corner) and it runs the probing cycle, it's going to update G54 and apply it immediately to the next tool path?  I am poor with words, so in another example if the machine starts at a Z height of say 10.0 inches and it probes and sees the down slope and registers to G54 say 9.5 inches, will that 9.5 inches be applied to the very next tool path? I am working on a one off part and I have no room for error.

     2. Second question is easy, simulation always shows a collision in probing, am I doing something wrong or is this normal?

 

I am sure folks are going to ask, but I have watched all the videos that I could find in Autodesk talking about it. They are an older version of fusion and I honestly don't understand some of it as my current version doesn't have some of the selections they are talking about.

When using the probe to update your work offset, you first need to establish (at the machine) where the top of the part actually is. Then, in Fusion, you also need to establish your WCS at that same location, which you have done. Once the probe cycle runs, this will update your defined work offset, and all subsequent toolpaths that use that work offset are now using this updated position. Does that make any sense?

 

And yes, probing does often show as a collision in Simulation, nothing wrong you are doing there. I'd expect to see those wrinkles ironed out at some point, but I suspect they are lower on the list of priorities in the grand scheme of things
