Error Message: NC CODE OUT OF DATE

Hi Folks - 

I am trying to refresh and update a previously created " NC Program" which is in the file browser.

However, it will not refresh or update. I have to repost the program then delete the first out of date version.

This requires re-entering all the filename and other previously entered info each time - not a deal killer, but still annoying. Is this normal?

Yes, the warning is normal. It's an indication that your NC Program has changed since the last time you posted it out.

As for "This requires re-entering all the filename and other previously entered info each time", your NC Program should be retaining that information if you've filled it out prior to smacking the "Post Process" button

I agree the out of date warning is normal, especially in the Setup list. Its very helpful to catch errors.

I am just puzzled as to why the NC program does not refresh after regenerating the setup since it has not yet been posted. The filename is the info that defaults back to the program number and has to be retyped every time the NC program has to be recreated.

because fusion isn't going to output a new gcode file every single time you make any changes to the toolpaths? 

If you update your program, and want to remove the warning simply click on the NC program then Post. The location, name, number, settings, etc are all "saved" inside that NCFile.

Once you input that into your NC Program data fields, it should not need to be reentered. Are you seeing otherwise, and can you share a screen recording showing your steps?

So, circling back around to this topic after a couple of months, wanted to say "Thanks Seth!"

I was unaware of the NC program functionality and didn't know I needed it - until now. I had always just post processed directly from the Setup itself. Cheers!
