Custom post not found

I have a custom post that I can't get to show up in the post processing dialog. (Mac OS)

I have just moved over to a new Mac.

The file is located correctly in the ~/AutoDesk/Fusion..../Posts directory. Same location as the old computer. It is a .cps file. It worked fine on the older computer.

I have also uploaded it to my A360 drive posts folder (yesterday), but it is not showing up under cloud posts (and yes I enabled cloud libraries). 

What is going on here?

It is probably just stuck they do this sometimes on a mac, a sign in and out or a reboot sometimes works.

Yes, but I only have one. I seriously doubt it's the file. As I said it works fine on the machine it was copied from.

Not sure what to tell you. I can't think of any good reason that it should behave as it is; just trying to figure out what might be happening. If you add other .cps files into that same directory, what happens?

@fritter63 this came up a few weeks ago I added a post to my windows computer (I do all post editing on my windows computer) gave it ten mins to upload then went to use it on my mac and it was not there for a day opening and closing both computers did nothing, opening a program and using the post on the windows computer fixed it.

I just tried everything. Signing out and in, restarting F360, restarting the Mac, nothing. Neither in cloud or in personal. It's pretty straightforward right? There is a readable .cps file in the correct directory. I really don't see what is so difficult about scanning a directory and reading a list of files to present. It's the most basic of software (I've written it many times myself):

File[] cpsFiles = new File("~/Autodesk/Fusion 360 CAM/Posts").listFiles(new CPSFilenameFilter());

So I'm out of ideas. And this is keeping me from generating TAP files now (the default Mach3 post does some nasty stuff that I don't like, which is why I had to make my own).

Who can help me figure this out? Perhaps someone from Autodesk can look at my A360 drive and at least tell me why it's not showing up under cloud posts?

I think you are looking at the wrong places look under Personal posts

No, that is empty as well.

  They will do this you could tag @LibertyMachine and ask him sinces he is staff.

Sorry you're still having troubles here. Would you humor me, and take a closer look (and help me see) what you're seeing.

1) If you put other posts (e.g., those from "generic posts", or downloaded from the post library) into this folder, do they show up when "Personal Posts" are activated?

2) Can you show screenshots of what you see in the Finder (with full path shown) vs. what you see in Fusion?

3) Can you double check that there aren't weird characters in the file name, which might throw off the name matching that Fusion does to identify what posts are in the folder?

4) Can you send me the file as you have it, just so we can confirm that something weird didn't happen to the file on its way to the other machine?

@jeff.pek answers to most of your questions:

Picture of the directory structure attached. Cps file is also attached. No weird characters in the filename. I literally just copied it over across a thunderbolt cable connection from the old box.

One thing interesting I've noticed... on the OLD box, I have a "F360" in a "~/Library/Applications....." folder (it shows up in my toolbar), which is really just a symbolic link to the actual app under "/Applications".  I have attached a picture of that directory as well.

On the new box, I DO NOT have that link. I have a link which a drug in from the "/Application" app. Now, I don't think that should matter, as when I run the app, it still comes up with my same user id as the "owner" of that process. But the new F360 was downloaded from the max App Store, so I son't know if that's why there's a difference.

As for putting other posts in there, I will have to dig through forums again to find out where those are stored... you guys make is to easy... (/sarcasm)

You can find additional posts online, at https://cam.autodesk.com/hsmposts. You can download these, and put them into your personal posts folder: ~/Autodesk/Fusion 360 CAM/Posts.

I was able to download your post into this folder, and it shows up fine.

Just a guess: maybe it is a file permissions issue. Can you expand the permissions for your 'fritter3' id, since the file is owned by 'staff'? Can you 'chmod' the file to 777, and see if it shows up? Maybe for some reason (which would be a bug, I think), it's wanting to have 'w' permission to show the file?

I think you have misread the listing there. The file is not owned by "staff", that is the group ownership. You can do a "man ls" to get more info about what the various columns mean. So permissions are set at 644 ( 110 100 100)- rw for me, r for group, r for world. This is the same as it was on the old machine.... it's the first thing I checked.... it aint' my first (UNIX) rodeo!

So I changed permissions to 777, and it still doesn't show.

OK, sorry about the misdirection; I spend more time on Windows, and so the Linux/OSX details are a little foggy. Thanks for double-checking for permissions issues.

Can you see what happens with additional posts that you may put into that folder? I'm really at a loss as to what may be going on on your machine. Not that I think it would necessary help, but a clean reinstall of Fusion maybe something to consider.
