Curved Channels Help

Hello,

I am very new to the CAM side of Fusion and I am having such difficulty creating a toolpath for the curved channels in the attached part. If anyone thinks they have the answer, please take a look and tell me where I am going wrong!

Also please tell me of any other improvements that I can make!

Thanks in advance

Hi @david.tunnard,

Check out the file I have attached, specifically the parallel operation. You may want to adjust the stepover in the passes tab to fit your needs. I used the 3mm Ball mill in your tool library to do the machining.

Let me know if this helps!

Thank you for the quick reply!

Parallel seems like the way to go! However, as with most of the other operations I have tried, the tool does not go to the bottom of the 3mm channel. do you have a solution for this?

Hi @david.tunnard,

I think this is because of the tolerance value set in the passes tab of the parallel operation. You're using a 3mm tool to fit into a 3mm channel so you don't have much wiggle room there. If you change the tolerance value to be smaller, do you get closer to what you are wanting?

Thanks,

Noah

Hi, Noah!

Ah yes, I understand what you are saying. I have changed the tolerance in the passes tab to 0.001mm and that seems to have got it close enough for me! Thanks very much for your help!
