2D contour

Hi. Could you please help me? I’m learning how to machine a part in Fusion 360.

My problem is with the 2D Contour operation. I set several radial passes in X/Y with a 1 mm stepover, for a total of 5 passes.

However, Fusion first moves the tool directly to the final/finishing contour, so the cutter engages the full radial depth of cut. Only after that does it move outward and start making the passes with the correct 1 mm stepover.

I need it to work in the opposite order: start from the outside and gradually move toward the final contour, taking 1 mm radial cuts each pass.

What could be causing this? I’ve already tried many different settings but haven’t been able to solve it.

I guarantee that you have it to the left, which plays it backwards.

Please take a look at the video; it shows the processing, but without the transparent outline like in your version. What is this transparent outline for, and is it possible to do without it?

if You take a look on my model in design mode, You will see two bodies. I gave opacity/transparent to stock body 50%.

If You take a look on setup, You will see that I used solid body for stock.

This is the reason why you can see transparent part in simulation.

Let me to explain why?

1. I never used software given option for stock and coordinate system (on this model i did not use my UCS) , I create both (this is my way to take a full control over the software) 

2. all my students (more than 70 guys and girls in the last decade) work on the same way as me do - in my free time I am an educator / SolidWorks/HSMWorks/Fusion;

3. when I start with course, my first sentence is, "You can not be good CNC programmer without basic knowlidge in design"! You do not have to be an expert, but You must to know create the plane, point, Coordinate System or UCS, project lines, sketch, extrude, cut, revolve and combine! On basic level. It is not problem when we start with square, rectangle or cilindrical stock in first phase, problem is when You have abnormal shape and you have to get stock as it is after the first phase. Or, if You have to make fixture for abnormal shape, You can not do this without basic design knowlidge (sketch, extrude, combine,...).

4. maybe, someone will tell me that I spend too mutch time on extra work, but this is my way. And after 16+ Years in CAD/CAM, thousands and thousands different pieces, hundreds and hundreds molds I can not say that I am on wrong way. I have lot of "holes" in my knowlidge, but I am traing to learn and correct my mistakes. 

Here, on forum, we are lucky that we have guys with extremly knowlidges and I am learning every day something new. Learning never stops.

Slider in simulation window MUST be on the right side, in Your simulation window is in the left side! Simulation go in the opposite direction.
