Reports - Add ability to add to menu

For reports (tables and charts), I want the ability to select a checkbox on the report creation screen to add it to a reports menu as a direct link with the ability to add a short description for the menu selection.

This would give us the ability to directly incorporate important reports into Fusion Lifecycle from the main menu. The report/chart would then need to be displayed in the context of Fusion Lifecycle and not a popup window.

Also, all table reports should provide a button link to download as CSV/Excel without having to click back and then click the CSV/Excel option.

I'm asking for these changes because reports are important, and the report functionality feels like an afterthought now within FLC that isn't being well received by our user base. Reports need some UI cleanup.

Hi @ThomasRambach,

Interesting idea. If I understand you correctly, you're basically looking for a way to expose that information more clearly to users. An alternative: what about a list of reports "pinned" to the dashboard, as a variation of the existing "charts" panel at the top? Something akin to the way the user can bookmark items to the dashboard today - and the user would have the option there to download the report or view it. I'm just wondering about different approaches here to talk to our UX team.

Also, can you expand a bit on "The report/chart would then need to be displayed in the context of Fusion Lifecycle and not a popup window."? What is the "context" that you are looking for here?

@giliar.defriesperez If the reports can be pinned to the dashboard, that would be acceptable as well. However, they need to be easily accessible. If they are hidden under a collapsed section by default, that won't work. (It would be nice if the administrator could configure which reports and charts all users have pinned to their dashboard)

The main dashboard lacks any ability to customize it now in the modern interface, so if we can have the ability to display charts or reports in a section that everyone can see, that would be helpful for getting the data we want the users to see to them quickly. It's not easy to keep telling people to run a specifically named report or to send them URL's to the reports.

By having the reports in the context of FLC, I mean not a pop-up but displayed just like a workspace record, with the header, menu, etc to continue navigating. Not a popup window.

@ThomasRambach ,

How about listing the reports associated with a workspace from the main menu? Exploring some ideas here. Thanks.

@giliar.defriesperezI'd have to see what that looked like. If they can be filtered, where not every report or chart was added to the menu that might work. The names might be really long for the menu though.
