OnCreate - custom script Error Messages

It should be possible to display meaningful messages.

Messages can only be displayed only on validation scripts at the moment. They were helpful for the user. If something is missing, they get the information, what is missing or going wrong.

On the OnCreate skript, it is not possible.

If something is going wrong, only a not very helpful message appears. If it is also possible to push messages, the failure can be found faster. Perhaps without always needing an administrator or support team.

With this, several scipts could be improved. Validations in OnEdit scripts cannot be done by the default validation rules of the item details.

Checks in OnEdit with a push message would be a great improvement in usability.

There are is an old Ideas from 2019. It is "Archived". However, it is not clear if and when it will be implemented.

Some good suggestions in the archived post.

On-edit should have ability to return messages like a validation.

The API returns a set of messages, and the script engine could add to these.

Even better would be to return a map of FIELD_NAME : error text, and have these displayed next to the offending message.

Thanks you for your feedback and support. You provided some good inputs. This would greatly increase the user-friendliness, especially with OnEdit scripts.
The better the feedback is for the user, the more the system will be accepted and a solution will be found quickly.
