Matrix tabbing through fields

For some workspaces it would be great to have the ability to setup tab increments for users populating a matrix.  In my scenario the user would like the ability to tab through fields based on columns, not rows.  Attached is a screenshot of a test matrix where tabbing based on columns makes more sense.
