Enable "Quick Create" in custom BOM-field picklists

"Quick Create" is a great feature for linking-picklist fields where you can create new items in the reference workspace directly when editing the picklist field, like this:

The blue plus-button lets you create a new item directly.

This is great and works in Item Details fields and Grid Fields, but unfortunately it does not work in custom BOM fields:

I would like to see the same functionality also in the custom BOM-fields (the blue plus-button).

That would be a real benefit for the users and complete a common set of UI behavior ....
