Fusion 360 Manage - Part Number Assignment Hangs on Certain Components

Hi,

I've been using the manage extension and successfully assigned part numbers to several assemblies and components. However, I noticed some parts and assemblies were not successful after the initial assignment of part numbers. When I try to assign part numbers specifically to these components the system simply hangs on the part number assignment "checklist". All the components are in the same team and project. Is this a known issue and can I work around it?

Hi,

we are also experiencing severe issues right now with Fusion 360 manage not showing ANY linked Manage-properties e.g revision, state, part number in ANY of our x-hundred drawings.

Now facing release of 100+ parts for large brand that could cause severe damage if this not is up and running again. It has been down for the last ~2w and it’s intermittent results the last year. It works in 80% of the days, but suddenly everything is gone again.

How can this be escalated in priority?

You can open a case somewhere on the site to escalate it. I did this last year and they eventually solved a different problem. Realistically, you will be waiting a long time (> 6 weeks) and I suggest you just do it manually with an intern to avoid missing your customer facing timelines. I am moving on as this plugin has only wasted my time so far. I suspect this is an architectural problem mostly related to asynchronous API calls in a scalable cloud environment which means they have to know the exact timings and steps that you took to reproduce the problem. This won't happen anytime soon.

Hi @chris.stobart @fredrik.lotto ,

Thanks to you both for reaching out. I started to dig into these as best as I could from the systems I have access to.

Chris: I highly suggest using our in-product chat feature to start a chat with an agent who can work with the back end teams to get this resolved ASAP. I checked to see if there was a support case yet, but could not find one. Let me know if you do have an open support ticket and I will escalate immediately.

Fredrik: I see you are working on Support Case 19795507 with an agent. Please continue working with them so they can troubleshoot and get this fixed with our engineering teams ASAP. Definitely reach out to me direct if you have any problems at all (james.youmatz@autodesk.com) during this support case, or while we get this resolved.

I know this has been problematic for you folks, and please continue to reach out on these. I truly do apologize for the downtime and frustration. We WILL get to the bottom of these.

Hi all,

Quick update. We believe we have found two specific issues affecting drawings and Manage Extension, which align with what you are reporting.

  1. Parts list not displaying manage properties in drawings
  2. Drawings/ItemNumber/Revision not appearing in drawings

Right now we are rapidly working on finding the cause of the issue, and then fixing it. Currently it seems specific to certain hardware on the machines, as we could reproduce this on Apple Intel Machines running Monterey/Ventura, as well as Windows (10/11).

It would be extremely helpful to know @chris.stobart @fredrik.lotto, and anyone else running into these issues, hardware and OS of the machines!

Thanks all,

I’m on a windows 10 machine, using an i7-2600k, and a P67 motherboard for my desktop. And I have the same issue on my Microsoft surface laptop 2 running windows 10.

Thank you for looking in to this as it will be a dealbreaker for us both for our business or transferring to another more reliable SW for revision handling. Really appreciate your attention!

We're using PC, Windows 10, Windows 10 pro, with som variants of hardware:

Microsoft Surface Book 2

Surface Laptop 4

Microsoft Surface Studio

It's also linked to this case: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-manage-forum/item-numbers-not-showing-in-the-parts-list/td...

These properties are not populating in the drawings title block anymore:

MNG_MOD_STATE

MNG_MOD_ITEM_NO

MNG_MOD_REV

I have until 12:00GMT tomorrow before I will need to nuke all of my title blocks and forget about this plugin.

Hi

Current workaround is to log out / in of Fusion.
Manage options should become available in drawings after you log back in in and properties should show.

We are working on a fix to be delivered as soon as possible

I tried this and it only brings back the managed extension data on some of
my parts. However, the parts that are missing the data are consistently
missing it.

Is it revision of some parts that are missing in the part list or all manage properties for some parts are missing?
If it is all manage properties, what do you see if you open related 3d parts and right click properties?
If it is revisions that are missing in the part list, can you verify if parts the drawing links to are released?

Can I get a refund on my manage extensions? This is no longer a viable solution for us with the inconsistent and slow functionality. I'm currently redoing all of my drawings/revisions because I don't have a choice and I need to decouple the working components/drawings from the extension to make things consistent.  This is causing major issues with our manufacturer and delaying our product launch which is a significant waste of man hours and capital.

Hi @chris.stobart ,

Sorry for the delay in replying back. I was just chatting with the team and would love to setup 30 minutes with you and our product management team to discuss all the issues impacting your business with Manage Extension and see if we can find a path forward. Can you email me at james.youmatz@autodesk.com so we can setup some time together and review the current issues ASAP. I know you mentioned this is hindering your launch of product.

Thanks,
