No space between two polygons

Hi,

there's a problem with two polygon pours. See image below.

One polygon is +5V net, other one is +3.3V net.

There's no space between like it's between polygon and wire.

Thanks.

So, one polygon is +5V, other one is +3.3V, on same layer and overlapping. No space between polygons.

Hi @silvio3105

You can set the rank for different polygon

Rank defines how polygons are subtracted from each other.

Polygons with a lower 'rank' appear "first" and thus get subtracted from polygons with a higher 'rank'.

Please have a try to see if it works for you.

Why polygons are made in that way? Why they don't have clearance like trace2trace or trace2polygon?

Hi @silvio3105,

It's the nature of the beast, they will follow DRC and Netclass clearance values. Using the rank parameter you can define which one has priority in the filling process. If they have the same rank then they just short together, which generates a DRC error, but is also the easiest way to tie differently named reference planes together.
