How to update a footprint that is already in a PCB?

Hi,

I have a finished PCB. Now I had to update one of the footprints. I updated the footprint in the library. But the footprint in the PCB does not update and I see no way to do so.

I probably am overlooking something.

Hi @mechamania ,

I hope you're doing well. Click on the library menu, and then select UPDATE to update the design to use the latest version of the library. You can also type the word UPDATE in the CLI and press enter.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hello @jorge_garcia when I click on "update design from all libraries used in the design", I see a window with 4 options pop up for each library! My project has libraries with identical filenames as a previous project but even after deleting old variants with similar names, I still see this dialog with 3 options!!!

Hi @fahad.bhatti,

It seems like at some point multiple instances of the Fusion team library were created. You will have to check them out individually to see which one is the latest.

Does your data panel show the duplication of those libraries?

Once you know which option is the latest and most up to date then you can use the Swap libraries and update functionalities to have your designs reference the latest version.

Once that's done delete the duplicates.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

I simply open the schematic, double click on the updated component as if to place a new component and Fusion gives me a popup telling me there is an older version of the component in the schematic and if I want to update it. I select YES and then cancel the new placement.

I didn't know about the UPDATE command, I may try that next time.
