Generating 3D PCB shows wrong components colors

Hello,

I created new electronic libraries with 3D models that have colors applied to them. When you generate a 3D PCB, everything looks fine, but after closing 3D PCB tab and opening it again, colors are messed up.

You can create new electronic library with a random 3D model even without applying any colors to it, just using default color and it still shows other color. 3D model for a electronic library can be linked or not, it doesnt matter.

If I recall correctly, everything was working fine before some of the updates and after some two or three updates, I noticed these problems with colors. I created new libraries with new 3D models, created new electronic designs and generated new 3D PCB, everything was fine, but in one or another way, making changes to a PCB still messes up the colors. I was able to reproduce this bug on Windows and OS X. (also OS X version is crashing like hell in Fusion Electronics)

So, questions as follow:

  1. Why generated 3D PCB view shows correct colors, when reopening it after saving shows wrong colors?
  2. Why some of the parts faces may change colors, but other body faces do not change color?
  3. Why default 3D model color also changes even it does not have any colors applied to it?

Hello @Edgaras.Janušauskas ,

I can not reproduce this issue. Can you share your 3d package document to me?

Hi @yqliu,

thanks for the replay.

I can not attach library file, only 3D package. (The file type (.flbr) is not supported.)

In order to reproduce the problem follow these steps:

  1. Create new electronic design.
  2. Create new schematic.
  3. Add part from library I sent.
  4. Generate PCB.
  5. Move newly added part to the PCB.
  6. Generate 3D PCB.
  7. Save new electronic design.
  8. Reopen electronic design.
  9. Open PCB view and rotate the part. (make a simple change to a part)
  10. Generate 3D PCB and save changes.
  11. Open 3D PCB file from the data panel and click "A" key on keyboard. (Appearance menu)

3D model colors are changed and there a new colors assign to it.

Hi this does not happen 3D model dependent, It happens randomly. I am also having same problems with some of my designs and this only occurs with 3D models of electronics not completly fusion 360 related.

Here is my post about it.

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-electronics/linked-3d-pcb-shows-wrong-colors-sometimes-on-...

Also if you check recent topics there are few other people complaning about this.

I would recomend that you try updates on PCB few times and maybe link it to another file and update. That way it may occur because as I said it happens randomly.

Here is another topic about it.

Hopefully you can reproduce it and gets a fix very soon.
