I just completed a ECAD project and sent the gerbers off to the board shop, and luckily waited to upgrade F360 based on this message: "Fusion 360 will not launch on your device running older applications or OS versions". After the upgrade F360 from 2.0.15050 to 2.0.16007 my project will no longer open on my main (desktop) computer. My alternate (laptop) computer also upgraded to 2.0.16007 and WILL correctly open the project, so I'm not dead in the water. (Same results on both machines when opening an ECAD project from 2022.)
To try to fix the desktop I've tried… both repairing the install and a complete uninstall and reinstall. I've tried exporting the project to my local disk from the notebook and importing it again on the desktop (to a new F360 project folder). No joy.
The unhappy desktop is running Win 10 Pro 64-bit version 22H2. NOTE that on the desktop computer F360 DOES WORK for mechanical CAD projects, and crashes reliably when opening ECAD projects. The happy laptop is running Win 11 Home 64-bit.
Suggestions on how to fix the desktop? Is there a method for fully scrubbing out all F360 remnants from the desktop before doing a reinstall?

Fusion has a utility to clean the install which is installed alongside Fusion. Please try clearing the cache (license and file caches) using that utility and opening Fusion. If you still see the issue, please let us know ASAP! Thanks.

Thanks Matt,
Where do I find this utility? (I looked around in the Start menus, in the install directory structure, and the Desktop Connector right-click menu)
The Service Utility Menu is brought up with a Ctrl-Shift and clicking the Fusion 360 icon. Is this the "utility" that you are referring to?
The Reset Fusion 360 button offers "All cache data will be removed after reset". The Learn more link says...
Note: If Fusion 360 version 2.0.15775 or newer is installed, the user credential needs to be manually cleared. See: How to clear the login credentials for Fusion 360.
First, I ran the Reset Fusion 360 operation. I did not select Keep for either of the two options. After restarting F360 it sill crashes when loading my ECAD project.
Next, I ran the Reset Fusion 360 operation again, and then did the manually clear user credential (Deleted idServices.db. Note that NMachineSpecificOptions.xml seems to have been deleted by the Reset Fusion 360 operation.) After restarting F360 it sill crashes when loading my ECAD project.

That’s the one! Let us know if the issue persists after it.

Hi @stuffZ8VH6,
After talking with a colleague the first error you mention is actually very important. Recently it was announced that Fusion would not be officially supported on the older versions of Windows 10 (I don't know why, likely some dependency issue) and it seems your desktop is on that older version. If you are open to it then I would recommend updating your OS and that will likely solve this.
If you are not open to it, then the other thing you can try is deactiviating the GPU accelation in Electronics. The error image you posted is related to the GPU accelaration. Go into Preferences > Electronics > Misc and uncheck Enable GPU rendering.
That will hopefully get you back up and running if an OS update is not an option.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
Best Regards,
Thank you Jorge. Disabling GPU rendering did indeed resolve the issue.
After upgrading to 2.0.16007 I no longer have the "Fusion 360 will not launch on your device running older applications or OS versions" banner.
One point of confusion... Per https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-requirement... the minimum Win10 version is 1809 (from 2018). I am running Win 10 22H2 (from 2022). My current version may be the latest from Microsoft. Are you saying that 22H2 wont be supported (and the min requirements page needs an update)?
Hi @stuffZ8VH6,
I hope you're doing well. If the version you are using is from 2022 then I think it should be fine, the fact that the latest version doesn't show the error anymore, means that the criteria has been satisfied.
The fact that disabling GPU rendering solved it means we have something to fix there. @panpan_fan Could you look to see if there is a way to reproduce this? See the above crash report number in the first post of this thread. Thank you in advance.
Best Regards,
