Hi all, as student I was building a mainboard for a project for school. All fine, saved etc. Some weeks later, I began adding some components to finish the project. But to my surprise I was not able to create the 3d view of the design. A vague message appears saying 'Failed to create PCB components'.
I quickly reverted any changes, but the message still appears. After that, I reverted an older version of the project. That works, but if I edit only one thing, the message starts again. I guess it has something to do with libraries, but the mentioned parts are form the library.io. To my surprise, the message keeps coming even if I remove all mentioned components. So maybe there is some nasty data left behind in the electronics project causing these problems.
Other electronics projects do not suffer from this annoying problem.
For me it looks like I have to restart from the beginning. Any help would really be appreciated!

Hi @robbiebout
There has been a handful problems with latest release, some related with 3D pcb generation.
General solution for this is to break the link with your 3D pcb (see in the 2D pcb document, where you jump to your 3D pcb, there is a command to break link). When done, just make it generate the 3D pcb over the unlinked one.
Worked for me, at least.
Have a great day.
Hi @djon_3V3 , @robbiebout ,
Good news, today Fusion 360 just released new version 2.0.10143 to public with the fix of the circular dependency issue, please update to latest Fusion and break link for the 3D PCB file firstly, and then View 3D PCB again. Suppose you should not meet this issue after that.
If you still meet the error message with latest Fusion, please let us know. We will keep investigating whether anything we might miss.
Thank you all so much for your feedback and so sorry for any inconvenience.
Regards,
Helen
Hi @djon_3V3 @HelenChen-ElectronicsQA ,
That fixed the problem. I'm glad it wasn't my own fault and I do not have to restart from the beginning.
I tought it was not fixed yet, but breaking the 3d link and regenerating the new file did it for me.
Thanks!
Robert Jan
