Bending Flexible PCB

I can currently make a sheet metal design of my FPCB, unfold it, and derive PCB from sketch but what I would like to do is derive PCB from the actual sheet metal object so thatafter finishing the schematic and board routingI can refold the PCB to preview what it will look like in person.

I assume this feature isn't implemented yet but—if that's right—I would love to see it in a future release!

Hi @lsi8PXFWR ,

You are correct that this is not implemented yet.  We will definitely consider this in future. As you have seen that we have got a lot of feature requests and the challenge for us is to balance the priorities.

Hi @rpXAMXY,

Unfortunately, no updates on this front yet. I have added your comments to the existing tickets for this feature.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

I've been patiently waiting almost 3.5 years now, to design and fold Flex PCBs in Fusion 360. With only a few months remaining to complete my project, do you suggest I hold out for a Fusion360 update for FPCBs or must I switch to using a different software?

Altium, SolidworksPCB, OrCAD, PADS, & basically every other semi-mature ECAD software added these FPCB features more than 5 years ago; are you telling me that the developers at Autodesk are still trying to decide whether supporting this is even worth attempting?

Hello @lsi8PXFWR,

I hope you're doing well. So it is definitely worth attempting and we will at some point, however I can tell you that it definitely will not happen this year.

So with that said, if you are in a rush to finish a project you have two options. One you can manually work around it in Fusion, leveraging user layers to define the flex portions of the design. The other option would be to switch.

You know what's best for you and what your application requires.

Let me know if know if there's anything else I can do for you.
