I am making my first steps in electronics and i want to design a simple pcb that connects multiple WS2812B led strips.
To simplify, let's say i want to make a small pcb with two times 3 solderings pads and traces between them. There are no components itself on the board. The strips are adjecent and soldered to the pads on the pcb.
There is a WS2812B led component in the library with 4 pins, for simplicity this component can represent a whole strip. But actually resides twice out of my PCB.
Do i place those in my schema ? Or i create a component that represents the 3 soldering pads ?

Hello @jaco.waes,
Welcome to the wonderful world of electronics! In this case your first design is a good simple choice, but I would still recommend making a schematic. The schematic will just have 2 connectors connected together. In this simple case the schematic is not strictly necessary but it is a good habit to get into.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
Best Regards,
Hi @jaco.waes,
Correct, the from the available libs you can bring in the old EAGLE libs. The pinhead library has some good examples of how such a connector could be made.
