Wrong footprint dimensions when "create new 3d model"

Hi,

I've got a problem with creating a new 3d package. I have 3.81mm footprint (you can see by grid, but where is dimensions tool in the footprint editor??)

When I create new 3d model distance between pads is wrong

I am not able to correctly create 3d package, because positioning is not possible. What is more, when I create 3d model from another socket, 3 pins this time, I get this!

HI @Anonymous

I hope you are doing well!

For the Dimension command, it is in the dropdown list of Draw Tab.

And you can also activate by Press 'D' in the keyboard.

And for the wrong size issue in 3d package, I have a try and I can see the correct result.

Please check if you are using the latest build V2.0.9011.

If you can still reproduce this issue in the latest build, please let us know. Thanks!

I'm facing the same problem.

I just created a new footprint with two pins 5.0 mm apart. I then right-clicked on the Footprint in the Content manager and selected "Create New 3D Model". The 3D opens showing where the pins should be located. When measuring the distance between the same to pins, it is shown as 4.0 mm.

I hope this can be resolved, as I cannot make my components right now.

Kind regards,

Jim

Hi, @jimUR4RG @Anonymous

Would you please share the library mentioned to us? Just go to file>export.

At current grid settings are stored in the file so that shared data might be helpful for us to find the reason that results to the issue.

Thanks,

Yiqiu

I had reported similar issue something like 3 month ago.

It seems they still can not manage it.

Please find the library attached.

Before I exported it, I tried to verify the bug once more. This time, I noticed something different. After I clicked "Create new 3D model", and the 3D view opened, the dimensions were correct. Then, after I added my STEP file into the 3D model, a second layer of pads appeared, with incorrect dimensions. Please see the attached screenshots.

I'm fairly certain that the previous time, the pads were incorrect the first time I created a new 3D model and a second layer did not appear but I'll have to check. I'm always using mm units btw.

Thanks for your sharing! @jimUR4RG

I have downloaded the library you shared and was also not able to reproduce the issue. I guess. there should be some specific steps or configuration that results in the problem.

Is it possible to add me to your team hub so that development team could try to investigate the data correspond directly?(yiqiu.han@autodesk.com)

Thanks,

Yiqiu

Hi, @jimUR4RG @Anonymous @christopher2KLSVU

The issue you reported has been resolved with the latest Fusion update (2.0.11183+), if you open the inconsistent footprint and 3D package, syncing would proceed automatically. Save the file could resolve the inconsistent problem.
Would you please have a try?

Thanks,

-Yiqiu
