Scrolling is easily broken

2.0.17244 arm64 (no plugins installed or loaded)

I've been having trouble with scrolling intermittently failing in the Electronics workspace. Tonight I tracked down a reproducible case:

1) Bring up a schematic

2) Bring up the libraries popup in the components panel

3) Using the trackpad, pan over the canvas

4) Try and scroll in the libraries pop up now. You can't and won't until you reload the document.

Once this occurs, ALL palette scrolling in an Electronics workspace fails. Every scroll event is routed to the canvas.

Seconded. Can also replicate the bug by opening and closing the library manager dialog window. I'm also running on MacOS

It can also be corrected by clicking the "info" button in the schematic canvas. This seems to make the canvas release any focus it has.

Hi @bentwookie , @virtualoren ,

So sorry to hear about that you're having trouble and so sorry for any inconvenience.

We are able to reproduce this issue and the current workaround is to collapse the drop down list of libraries in Place Component Panel, then scroll the device list there and then click the libraries drop down list to scroll.

Hope it could help a little bit.

We will keep you be posted if we have any update about this issue.

Hope you have a great day.

Best regards,

Helen

In a twist of fate, I managed to dump an entire cup of coffee in that laptop this morning, so I'll have to give this a go in 3 to 5 days. Genius Bar willing.

Hi @bentwookie ,

Oops, I am so sorry to hear about that...

BTW, maybe try to select any library or device to invoke the place component panel and try to scroll it again.

Best regards,

Helen

Hi @bentwookie , @virtualoren ,

Hope all is well!

Could you please uncheck the checkbox about "Use gesture-based view navigation" from Preferences dialog > Apply changes > Restart Fusion to have a try with Mac trackpad again? Suppose it should work then.

Looking forward to your feedback. Thank you!

Turning off gesture-based view navigation does seem to prevent the canvas scrolling problems in the PCB side, but doing so makes the rest of Fusion unusable.

I appreciate the effort to look for a workaround, but event plumbing in the PCB side needs straightening out. Hopefully somebody is tasked with that.

Hi @bentwookie ,

Much appreciated for your fast response.

Kindly reminding that now with the fix in the latest Fusion version 2.0.17954, you could check the option about "Use gesture-based view navigation" in preferences dialog again.
