Saving takes a long time

Hello,

On Fusion 360 whenever I save a schematics, library or anything, it takes from 30 seconds to 2 minutes to save! Sometimes even more. So, I got a couple of questions:

1) Why is that? Is it something on my PC? My internet is 200Mbit/s.

2) Is there a solution to that? I was thinking that I could cache my project to work offline, then work on it entirely offline, and then after I'm done I'd switch back to online mode to sync. Is that a valid solution?

Thanks,

Ed

Is that 200Mb your upload speed or download speed. Every time you save the new version is uploaded to the cloud then updated in the data panel to reflect the newest version.

Well, I exported the schematics and the component library files, and they're very small:

I'm not sure if they contain everything, but those are the files exported by Fusion 360. So they should upload almost instantly.

But will that idea of caching the project and working offline work? Will saves/loads be instantly that way?

Hi @Anonymous ,

It might work for a time, but caching a project offline is meant to be temporary I worry that you might run into problems if you inadvertently exceed the cache time. Fusion has several bottlenecks that slow down saving and opening files. One of them is context switching which is likely taking up the majority of the time.

We are working to address those bottlenecks but for now there's little you can do to speed up performance.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
