Print to file from PCB artwork goes wrong

If I try to create artwork to PDF, component layout information, mechanical information, connections information or whatever from a PCB, a lot of things are lacking. Layer colors I set aren't transferred, some lines like the dimensions layer are completely invisible. Most of the layers come out in gray, instead of the layer colors I set.

Is there something I can do to make things more workable, I cannot imagine it is a settings thing?

I hope you're doing well. That's odd, normally whatever the layer colors are that's what gets printed. If you do a print to PDF do the colors still look weird?

What OS are you working with?

thanks for your reply. I use Windows 10.

Yes, either a print to PDF or a print directly to a printer results in 'weird' colors. Some layers do have a correct color, like TOP and BOTTOM, but if I print layer 55 and 56, it will default print grey. A lot of other layers as well... If the dimension layer for example is size 0, it wouldn't be visible on the PDF/print. I expected similair behaviour as with EAGLE. If I use the same file and similar colors in eagle, it prints just fine on my machine.

Hi, because of a lot of work, I have little time to beta test and debug. So what I saw: all layers that I add (layer pair 55/56) layers 100+ manually, come out grey.  whatever color I select in the layer setupt thingy.

If I export the design to .brd and open it in eagle, I can print all layers in the colors I set up in the project. Should be simple to reproduce.

Hi @m.ensing2UAQJ,

I hope you're doing well. When you create additional layers in Fusion, check the Display layers panel. Look at the color of those additional layers, can you confirm they all have non-grey colors?

Sounds simple but if you don't assign colors at the time of creation it's very likely they will all get the same layers. The layers mechanisms in EAGLE and Fusion are different so saying that it works in EAGLE doesn't fully rule out layers not being assigned colors in Fusion.

Have you altered the palette in Fusion?

Thank you very much for reporting this issue and so sorry for any inconvenience.

Before this issue is fixed, we'd suggest to use this workaround to get the image for printing instead.

Please run "Export" in the Command line > Select "Image" in the context menu > Set the parameters you need for the image > Export the PCB into the image > Print the image instead.

Hope it helps a little.

Sorry for any inconvenience, we have no more update about this issue yet.

Could you please use the workaround we provided earlier instead currently? From Export > Image.
