Importing from eagle results in missing origin layers.

I am trying to import a design from Eagle to F360E. The upload seems to work, but layers 23 and 24 do not make it. Those are the top and bottom origin layers. Rather tough to work without those.

I tried uploading the .brd and .sch files as well as creating a new design and referencing the .brd and .sch file. In both cases the origin layers are missing.

Is there anything I can do to get the origin layers to import properly?

OK, Found the answer: https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/tOrigin-and-bOrigi...9

But this seems much more cumbersome. It is difficult to select the desired component and not nearby traces labels etc. Seems like a misstep. If this new system works well for you, please let me know any tips that might be helpful.

Hi there! Selecting is now no longer limited to just the component origins, you can use any geometry to make your selection, making it a bit more flexible. If you end up in a situation where there is a lot of ambiguity, make sure to press and hold to bring up the long-press ambiguity resolution menu and select the object you want. Let me know if that helps! So far we've heard from most users that it feels a bit different at first but they end up really liking it after a bit!

Hello,

it's a disaster. I can no longer edit all my imported boards from Eagle! No component can be selected. Even if I insert a new component, it can no longer be selected. The new selection tool only works if you create the BRD from a schema in Fusion. Importing from an existing file no longer works. This is just terrible. I hope that this will be fixed.

Hi @michel.linckels,

I hope you're doing well. I've tested this and it works. There are a few things to check, make sure to reset the selection filter. If the selection filter is empty then no matter what you do you won't be able to select anything.

You said you can't select components, that implies that you can select other things. If that's the case then the selection filter is likely the culprit.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hello Jorge
Thank you for your quick reply. Unfortunately, I can select everything except the components! If I import the .sch file and then convert it into a board, then I can select the components, but then I have to redraw the whole board which is not an option.

Hi @michel.linckels,

I hope you're doing well. I just checked the files, everything is OK. Just turn on Layer 1 Top and you'll be able to select everything. With the new selection mechanism, the selection is also tied to layer 1. We are working on making this more flexible.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hi Jorge,
That's the solution, thank you very much. Now I'm really glad that I don't have to redraw my boards. You have helped me a lot.
