How can you insert an image onto a schematic sheet, with either copy/paste or insert image?

There's a guide on SparkFun that explains the process from Eagle. Since Fusion 360 Electronics is basically Eagle, nothing should have changed except for where the buttons are placed. It also covers most of the different types of images that you would want to import.

Thanks for that info; I think I will need to to this for my PCB layout too.

But I was referring to the schematic; I want to place an image of a pinout on the schematic sheet and I can't see how to do that, thanks

What type of file is the image that you would like to use?

Ideally a cut/paste image from the windows clip board, such as from Windows 10 'snip & sketch' but if that is not possible, any sort of saved image such as a BMP, JPG, or PNG

With the current features available, going directly from your clipboard to the workspace is not possible, as all image solutions are implemented with shapes. The BMP and DXF methods in the guide at the link from my previous post will work for both schematic and board, while the SVG to Polygon will only work on boards. The BMP and DXF methods both convert the file into shapes within the workspace, with BMP creating squares with up to 32 different colors, and DXF creating lines and shapes on a layer of your choice. Any other filetype will need to be converted, although converting raster files to a suitable BMP file can be difficult if you are trying to use online utilities.

Thanks for the information.

Are there any plans to implement this feature?  Similar tools such as Altium and Kicad both allow for easy insertion of pictures into schematics.

Bumping this, I miss the ability to place images for reference in a schematic coming from Altium.

Hello @mace2769,

Thanks for bumping the thread. There is still no change on this front yet. In the mean time you can still import a low color bitmap image (4-5 colors max) using the import-bmp-simple.ulp.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
