Fusion electronic parts list is missing all properties

Hi All,

Perhaps I'm missing something crucial here, but after populating properties and creating a parts list on a drawing, these attributes should appear on the parts list.

Adding properties via the package in 3D view:

or in the 3d model properties:

Still results in a blank parts list, which has the correct qty and number of rows, but no part number, etc.

Hi @COLINBRUSCHI ,

Are you working with the Manage extension? As far as  I know, Electronics is not integrated into that extension's workflows.  So even though it looks like you can fill out that info, I don't think it makes it back to the table, because it can't make it's way back to the electronics design files. This is something that needs to be improved but for now we don't have a solution.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hi Jorge,

We're not using any extensions, purely built-in functionality. So my scenario is that I've got PCBs with parts created in my own library, with properties added in the 3d model views, and none of this information appears on the parts list, even though the parts list shows the correct qty of components.

Are drawings and parts lists actually supported by fusion electronic?

Hello @COLINBRUSCHI ,

Drawings are partially supported as of the previous release of Fusion. Parts list as Fusion Modeling creates them No, however the electronics environment can produce BOMs. If you define your special attributes in the schematic or in the library then the Electronics BOM tools will pick this up. Properties created on the 3D PCB will not make their way back to the Electronics BOM tools.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Hi Jorge,

You mentioned it's possible to define attributes in the library part, however none of these are selectable from the 'part list' table in the drawing, only a few standard attributes / properties. Also attributes can't have spaces between words, so it's not possible to create an attribute called "PART NUMBER". Please can you advise the correct procedure for getting any attribute to appear on the parts list.

Hi @COLINBRUSCHI,

I hope you're doing well. At this point in time this functionality is not supported.

Currently, the drawings can't consume the attribute values like part number, description, etc from electronics side.

Hence you can see correct quantity value but not other values.

Thank you,

Sayali

Hi  @sayali_todkar

Thanks, so am I correct in saying that fusion electronic cannot produce a basic parts list, with properties either from the library part or the 3d model?

Yes, this is not supported currently.

I'm confused, this used to work but now I'm getting the same results as the original poster. I had a trial version of Bommer installed but have since removed it. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.

Hello @kterryTYYYC ,

I'm really struggling here because as far as I know and understand the old version was never possible. Could you detail how the old version was created? Step by step, the parts list in the drawings environment can't read any of the information in the schematic and the 2D PCB. So other than filling the table out manually I'm not sure how you got the older version of the drawing.

In any case I will report this to the team, but something is really strange.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hi Jorge, thanks for your reply. I didn't do anything special, but just to clarify my list only contained the part number (which is carried over) and no other details. But by latest iteration of the drawing only shows ---- placeholders for the PN.

Hello @kterryTYYYC ,

Thanks for the screenshot. I think this helps clarify what's going. You are using Fusion Manage correct? It looks like when Fusion Manage is used the parts list used to grab the properties information that you filled out there.

So this is actually separate from electronics and seems to be related to Fusion Manage. I'll see if I can find someone in the manage team to look at this once you confirm that you are using Fusion Manage.
