connecting two thick traces for higher power nets using many vias without use of polygon pours

I know that to connect two polygons on different layers with same net is is very simple to place vias that are also for that net and everything connects for higher power using multiple vias.

I would like to use multiple vias to connect fat trace from one layer to another all same net.

There seems to be a need for drc connectivity checks that at the end of a fat trace the center radius of a fat trace must connect to a via or a connection just with vias spaced within the trace in that area the connection to the net is not registered for drc check.   Having other vias I assume work for current sharing but they alone are not considered for net connectivity, only the one at center of trace endpoint radius.

I am trying to avoid having to have a couple tiny polygons every time I want to connect thick traces on different layers.

Below is fat trace connecting to tiny polygon.  I must route at least one trace from one via to the center of the radius of the fat trace or the fat trace has drc error for airware to the vias (short yellow line at center)

Will vias with the same net name that are just placed in the area two  thick traces on different layers connect to that net electrically and the issue is just something required so drc connectivity test passes?

Hi @mjstn2011 ,

I hope you're doing well. Technically speaking the wires will connect, the remaining airwire is just to satisfy the DRC connectivity. You can choose to ignore it.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Thanks for confirmation of via connectivity between traces.
