Why when I go back in the timeline and edit the sketch it does not change model?

As shown in my screencast I can go back in the time line and change the thickness of the umbrella in the sketch, but even so it does not effect the model in the end. Guessing something is just not correct with my workflow.

How would I go about changing the thickness of my model at this point?

Thanks,

Hi @Anonymous,

You have used the Free Form to model the umbrella canopy. The sketch has no connection to the canopy, beside been as a guideline for the shape.

If you want to change the thickness, you should use the Edit Form.

Cheers / Ben

Ben is exactly right! You can try the shell function to get your wished result at this point right now.

Guess it is what it is, but in my mind being I used the sketch for the shape there should be a connection between the sketch and the canopy.

Anyway I have since tried Edit form and also the Shell tool with out any luck.

Would be great if someone could show me how the thickness could be change with a screencast.

Thanks,

Could you invite me to your project so I can try to fix your Problem? I think this would be much easier for both of us. 😉

My project file has been attached to my original post since the beginning of this topic. Does that not work for you?

Thanks,

Edited to add: I'm not sure if I invite you to my project if I would be able to see how it's done like I would be able to in a screencast.

John, try this parametric version using a loft. Formes are good for certain things but there is no history at all, the trouble is you could easily modify your initial sketch so edits to the form would fail.

Sorry my fault I didn't see the file. I tried it now on my own but it seems quite difficult to solve. Actually I have no idea how to fix it but I will go on trying it. If you get a solution on your own please let me know how you did it 🙂
