Why doesn't this simple sweep operation work?

I am only trying to sweep the shape of an ellipse through a spiral curve and I am not given the "ok" button to complete operation.  Can someone please advise?

Thanks,

Cere

IMO it's not possible, as it exists.

- Section needs to be placed orthogonal relative to path

- Path is too narrow, compared to size of section.

That is not a spiral curve. That is a projection of a conical 3D helix projected onto a flat plane.

Then you deleted the original, whihh is the reason for the yellow highlighted sketch warning you that it's references (the 3D helix) is missing.

What @WHolzwarth is saying is that this sweep would result in self intersecting geometry.

Ok, thanks.  I finally figured this one out.
