Hi,

Can someone please tell me where I can find the history (older versions of my design) in the current dashboard?

Thanks!

Hi,

If you click on your design to open the details, you will see links to 3 tabs in the upper right corner of the details window.  These are called - Preview, Interactive and Versions.  You should see the versions created under the Versions tab.

best regards,

Hi sanjay_jayabal,

thanks for reply that helped.

So the way is as follows:

1. in the dashbord click either the design name or the thumbnail.

2. In the following window (see right side) in the upper right corner you will find 'VERSIONS'.

For all who need something visible I added this screenshot:

Hope that helps 😉

How do I edit older version? All I see is just preview? This part of fusion makes me confused

Hi Yolmen,

if you want to go back to a previous version you must click the small symbol with the up arrow (see arrow marked with 1.).

Then F360 creates a new version on top of the list. Then you must click the pencil symbol to edit / design this version. (see arrow marked with 2.).
So basically you do not go back to that version but you create a copy of that earlier version and create a new one which you then edit.

Hope this makes sense.

Thank you thburn. This worked, but I think Autodesk should make this more intuitive ....

We do have more work to do with this product so your feedback is greatly appreciated.  Can you explain where you think versioning information should be?  What else about this workflow would you like tell us?

Customer feedback is driving the product direction so please let us know all of your thoughts.

Thanks to all for helping us make this a better product!

Hi Andy,

I am not that satisfied with the dashboard. First of all it is almost very slow. Switching between pages is very time consuming. You can watch each image downloading one by one. Very slow.

Opening a design takes 20-30 seconds even for a simple design with only one body. Too much!

(Even using an iMac 27" Intel Core i7, 16000 kBit DSL line).

Dashboard should be more like an HTML5 app instead of an old school webpage. This means I don't want that the dashboard reloads the whole page  if I switch between Project / Data / People / Calendar / Wiki. Only the changing content should be reloaded. This is common for modern webpages.

Sometimes the dashboard is confusing to me, please look here:

F360_dashboard.jpg

Under 'Recent' and 'Activity' similar content is presented, both show a design. But I don't know what is the meaning of both. I only need one.

Under Activity an 'Open' button appears only if I hover the mouse over. Under the 'Activity' the 'Open design' button is always visible. Both do the same they open the design.

But why I have these two areas which nearly do the same? Where is the difference? What is the benefit of having both? For me it is confusing.
I also want to have a possibility to delete a project inside the project section/menu (what is shown above). But it is not there. If I want to delete a project I have to switch to the 'Data' section.
This is not very comfortable and for newbees very difficult to understand.

If I click 'Project' I expect an overview of my projects, but it shows the current project. Only hovering over the 'Project' button shows all of my projects in a popout window.

This popout window only appears if hovering over Project, the other buttons does not follow this rule they don't show a popout window - this is inconsistent and confusing.
Also the versions of a design and how to switch between them need some improvement. Nobody knows that he has to click on the name or the image of a design to get to the versions.

Version should appear more prominent as a drop down box directly inside the design itself. Then it must be easy to access any of the history version by one click. Not like it is now.

Thanks!

Thanks for the great feedback. We have learned a lot over the last year with the dashboard and how people would like to use it to interact with their designs. That said we still have a lot to learn so feedback like this is very valuable to us. We have heard similar things from other users that find navigating more difficult and slower than they would like. Its very timely as we are looking at a number of things to make the experience a lot better in the future and feedback like this will help us a great deal.

I think if instead of "Promote" you would just have "Edit" option and then have the code (in the background) just make a copy of that design would be a lot easier. First impresion of "Promote" I had, was of social aspect of fusion, that's why I didnt even press it (similar to payed adds of facebook or something). Just make it straigh forward.

Also It's prety hard now to find perticual projects. You should have it just like local computer or something like Google Drive where I can just create a folder and have this kind of designs, and different folder for different. Just freedom, arranged my way ...

When I enter the text 'open previous version' in the 'help' box of the a360 app I'm -supposed- to go to the DOC-YOU-MEN-TAY-SHUN not some casual conversation two years old and totally out of date with the current version of the app.

I spent the next ten minutes reading all that and looking at the app screen and finally decided that nothing that was being described could I see on the screen.

The current version of the (i) button goes to a360 now! None of this happens in the app!!!

At a360 I found a 'promote' function ths seemd to force a version upgrade and an -export- feature but that's not what I need to do anyway I need to -load- a previous version into f360.

Yes, I see that the topmost version has a 'load' link but that's not much use without knowing what 'promote' actually did. Did it 1) move the version I promoted to the top of the list (with a new version number) or did it push it up inline and the only DLable version is still the latest version I saved-as? That second option doesn't make any logical sense but there's a *LOT* in f360 that makes no logial sense.

Again, 'help' should return documentation not conversation. Don't you folks have a tech writer department? User interface specialists? I -am- a One True Geek so if I can't figure it out straightforwardly It's sure as toot that very few others can. This message that I'm replying to happened to be the first hit returned by the (alleged) 'help' search. I'm not going to read any others. I'm tiiiired of chasing down years-old information that is totally incomaptible with current versions. I'm -tiiiired- of playing the 'let's try this button and see what happens' game. All I want are the -docs- (not 'copnversation about') for -the- -current- version.
